Beaumaris is referred to a the "Jewel of Anglesey" and is a enchanting seaside town and is an ideal base for exploring Anglesey and North Wales. It's architecture is a mix of medieval, Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian, it has something for everyone.
Its name is based on the Norman ‘beau marais’, meaning ‘fair marsh’.
Beaumaris is a small holiday town and it boasts boutique shops, restaurant, bars and cafês along with some outstanding views over the Menai Straits and Snowdonia.
It has medieval Castle, a Pier and a Goal, the Castle constructed between 1295 -1330 and was never finished is a United Nations World Heritage site.
There are two golf courses, both have stunning coastal and mountain views.
Anglesey is famous for two iconic bridges which are a few miles from the town of Beaumaris, one build by Thomas Telford - The Meni Suspension Bridge which opened in 1826 and the Britannia Bridge built by Robert Stephenson which was designed as a rail crossing and opened in 1850, both are stunning.
